In the year 2031, the Halovirus throws the world back into chaos. Superficially, as a means to control the spread of the virus, a world Government institutes measures to place the infected 'Halos' in Convalescent Centers where they are given free rein to heal. Beneath the surface of its benevolence, the Government has concocted a more sinister plan for the Halos as it strains for control in a chaotic world.

So close to the truth, it will scare you to life.

the sick house

As a new pandemic, the Halovirus, begins to break its restraints and rampage worldwide, citizens meekly submit to the Government's new rules of isolation. Those infected, the Halos, are forced into Convalescent Centers where they are kept indefinitely until they test negative by personal Halo Detectors.

At Cloud End Convalescent Center, perched high on the side of Faucini Cliff, the Halos begin to heal, but their Halo Detectors continue to flash red.  Unbeknownst to them, the Government is conducting a psychological experiment to understand how citizens can be manipulated and how they react. How far will the Government go to control its people?

Who will overcome? The Government and its limitless resources, or a score of hapless citizens thrown into Cloud End through no fault of their own?

PRAISE FOR THE SICK HOUSE

Enticing and Addictive Reading

I just literally finished reading this book and I gotta say, the last few chapters had my heart racing.

While I really enjoyed getting to know the guests at Cloud End and loved the conspiratorial aspect of the story, the real action totally ramps up towards the end and keeps you spellbound to the last sentence.

Resulting in incredible unexpected tragedy upon tragedy, excitement, healing relationships, celebration, this is one book whos final chapters have you reading regardless of time, unable to put it down.

I definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys looking at relationships of all kinds, crime, mystery, philosophical thinking, looking inward at our own lives, studying our governments and making us question the big “what ifs”, this book has it all.

Thankyou Reid, another stellar book!
